Traffic and connections

Loimaa is located in the centre of the growth triangle of Southern Finland, with good transport connections. Loimaa is located along the highway 9 and highway 2 runs through the northern part of the town. Train and bus services run several times a day from morning to evening, including weekends. Loimaa’s renewed travel centre is home to railway and bus stations. There is free on-site parking for cars. There are more than 80 parking spaces. Buses can also be boarded directly from the main road 9. Turku and Pirkkala airports are about an hour’s drive away, and Helsinki-Vantaa is about two hours away. The Turku port is about an hour away.

Timetables for regional transport can be found in the route guide and timetable service on the seutuplus.fi website:

– The route guide can be found on the home page of the seutuplus.fi website . The customer can plan a journey between the point of departure and the destination.

– Timetables can be found on the “Routes and timetables” tab of the seutuplus.fi website. In the top right corner you can select the timetable period & list the timetables by line.

Shuttle taxi services

Shuttle taxi (Kutsutaksi) is a service open to all within Loimaa. Registration for a ride must be made no later than the day before by calling the driver of the route in question. A fee based on the bus fare will be charged for the ride.

The route to be taken will be determined by the number of people boarding. For more information, including timetables, please contact the taxi company operating each route. The service time is approximately 2-2,5 hours. The routes run on Tuesdays and Fridays, except for the Virtta and Tammiainen routes in Alastaro on Fridays.

Transport in Alastaro is combined in the centre of Alastaro. One taxi will continue to Loimaa and the other will take those who have stayed in Alastaro to go home. You can get there by calling Raimo Huhtala from the centre of Alastaro on the west side of the Loimijoki river and Tomi Prihti from the Loimikoti area.
