Participatory budgeting

In participatory budgeting (osbu), residents have a say in how the public money available to the municipality is spent.

Participatory budgeting is a process of democratic debate and decision-making. It is based on the idea of participatory democracy, where ordinary people decide how public funds available to a municipality or the state are allocated and spent. Participatory budgeting allows people to identify, discuss and prioritise public spending. At the same time, it gives people the power to make real decisions and decide how money is spent.
