New courses starting in the middle of the academic year will be announced on the city’s website and social media channels, as well as in the local newspaper, as appropriate.

Study groups meet during the academic year at the times indicated in the study programme. There are no classes during the autumn holiday week (week 42) and the winter holiday week (week 8). There are also no classes on public holidays and no classes after 17.00 on Pentecost.

Welcome to learn, have fun and enjoy our quality courses!

Registration

All study groups must be pre-registered by the deadline indicated in the course information. You can register online in the Loimaa Student Services service or by phone on tel. 050 311 4691.

No separate information about the start of the course will be sent to the registrant. Instead, cancellations will be notified by SMS. It is therefore important that students remember to inform the college office of their contact details and any changes. For groups that are full, places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Courses that run during the academic year and term can be visited once, by prior arrangement with the college office.

If you cancel or interrupt your course, you must always inform the school office. Cancellations must be made at least five working days before the start of the course. Otherwise, 50% of the course fee will be charged, or a minimum of EUR 20. Cancellations must always be made to the school office.

Course fees are invoiced in one instalment. Part of the course fee can only be refunded if the course is interrupted for reasons beyond the control of the school. If at least 2/3 of the tuition/course has been completed, the fee is non-refundable.

The price per student does not include work and study materials (except for some courses for children and special groups). For many courses, you can also buy supplies from the teacher if you wish.

The fees charged by the colleges are directly enforceable. You cannot participate in study groups if you have not paid for courses from previous years.

Students can apply for a voucher grant and a reduction in course fees on financial grounds. The application can be submitted to the Workers’ Education Centre office at Ylistaronkatu 36 or by e-mail to tyovaenopisto@loimaa.fi.

Student voucher application form

The amount of course fees depends on the number of hours of tuition a student receives and the costs associated with organising the course. The prices for individual tuition are higher than for group tuition.

The City Education Board decides on the course fees.

Edenred, ePassport, Smartum and Tyky

Courses can also be paid for using the following employer-provided well-being payment methods: ePass (mobile payment), Smartum (banknote and mobile payment) and Tyky (banknote payment).

The method of payment must be indicated at the time of registration. Payments must be made within two weeks of the start of the course. Otherwise, the course fee will be invoiced in the normal way and the invoice sent to the student will no longer be credited.

Upon request, the student will receive a certificate of completion from the office. It is free of charge. As a rule, we do not issue certificates for courses older than five years.
