Harjureitti nature trail

The Harjureitti nature trial is a 28-kilometre-long outdoor trail established in 1998, which was officially recognised as an outdoor trail in 2006. This route, known as “Little Lapland”, is located in the border area between Southwest Finland and Satakunta, in the middle of the only continuous ridge section in Southwest Finland, in the Säkylänharjun-Virttaankankaan area. The maintenance of the ridge route is the joint responsibility of the towns of Loimaa and Huittinen and the municipalities of Oripää and Säkylä.

The stunning scenery and exceptional terrain – dry canopy forest, ridges and elevation changes – make this outdoor reserve worth exploring at any time of year.

The area as a whole is well-suited for recreational and commercial sports. It is accessible in all weathers from early spring to late autumn, thanks to its hard bottom and its extensive network of paths. In winter, the ridge offers good cross-country skiing trails and snow tends to last longer on the ridge.

The trails include a number of campsites with public access rights, as well as a sheds, Turvekammi, Luppokota, the Myllylähde nature area with overflow observation points and two sports club huts, where a café is held during the ski season.
