Hirvihovi Sports Centre

The sports centre in Hirvikoski offers a wide range of services for sports and recreation.

The sports centre consists of the recreational swimming pool Vesihovi, the Hirvihovi sports hall with fitness and gymnasiums, an athletics field renovated in 2018, a football pitch on a natural grass field, outdoor training, beach volleyball and tennis courts, an ice hockey rink and a 1 km long floodlit track.

The sports hall, which is divided into three sections, has courts for futsal, basketball, volleyball, volleyball, volleyball and badminton. On the second floor’s upper deck, you can organise games such as gymnastics and bocce. The tatami room is suitable for martial arts and gymnastics. The mirror room is suitable for small groups for training purposes.

The gym is equipped with heavy-duty equipment and is also suitable for special groups. The gymnasium is equipped with free weights for more demanding gymnasts. The hall has a fixed grandstand for 160 people. The Moose Yard also offers good facilities for large public events.

Loimaa Sports Centre

The sports centre in the city centre consists of the city’s largest sports hall, an artificial grass pitch, a baseball stadium with training pitches, tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a 1.3 km long floodlit fitness track with outdoor fitness equipment and stairs, and a gym.

The Liikuntahalli is the home hall of Loimaa’s football teams, where the league’s home matches are played. The hall, which is divided into three sections, has courts for futsal, basketball, volleyball, volleyball, volleyball and badminton.

The mirror room is suitable for organising, for example, gymnastics. The hall also has gymnastics bars, exercise bar, rings, ropes, half-trees and mattresses.
The running track, located on the upper deck of the hall, is a four-lane, 50-metre-long track with a long jump area at one end and a throwing area for athletics.

The cafeteria in the sports hall is suitable for meetings, for example.

The artificial grass pitch, completed in 2018, and the baseball stadium with several training fields, which will be renovated in 2020, provide good training and tournament facilities for local clubs. The artificial grass pitch is surrounded by a 4-lane pebbled asphalt running track. At the end there is a paved jumping area and a diving ring, as well as a long jump area.

The sports centre’s maintenance building, between the baseball stadium and the artificial grass field, houses a free gym and fitness centre.

Sports facilities in towns and villages

Alastaro

Alastarohall has courts for futsal, basketball, volleyball, volleyball, volleyball and badminton, as well as a free gym open on weekdays. Outside the hall there is a pebbled ash baseball field and an ice hockey rink.

The Alastaro sports field has a 4-lane running track, as well as long jump, shot put and high jump. In the middle of the field is a football pitch with natural grass. Next to the sports field are sand pitches, which serve as skating rinks in winter, and a tennis court.

The floodlit track next to the sports field has a 2.6 km basic run and 1.1 km and 4.4 km runs, with traditional and free skiing tracks in winter. There is also a shelter along the route. A new 10-hole frisbee golf course, opened in autumn 2019, is located in the immediate vicinity of the track.

Mellilä

The Mellilä Ball Stadium is located in the courtyard of the Mellilä Asemanseudo school. The hall has basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. There is also a sand pitch and an ice hockey pitch in the school yard. In the centre of Mellilä there is a gym with weights.

Metsämaa

The Kalliohovi, owned by Metsämaan Urheilijat, is located in the Metsämaa village schoolyard. The Kalliohovi has a sports hall with basketball, volleyball, volleyball, volleyball and badminton courts. The hall also houses a free gym with weighted equipment owned by the city.

Metsämaa School has a sand pitch with a rink and public ice in winter. The nearby floodlit fitness track is an easy 2.0 km run, with cross-country and cross-country skiing tracks in winter. A 9-hole frisbee golf course in Metsämaa is also located on the terrain of the fitness track.

Other villages

In other villages of Loimaa, the sports facilities located near schools also offer good indoor and outdoor sports facilities for various types of exercise.
