Preparedness in agriculture

The modern farm is subject to various disruptions due to natural or other exceptional circumstances. A thunderstorm or an electrical appliance can start a fire. Storms cause power outages. Automation or other functions cannot function without backup power. Communications outages are a major concern on livestock farms, for example. Not to mention wider global crisis situations.

On a farm, it is a good idea to think about crisis preparedness in advance. It is always better to have a crisis plan in place. This is the time to think about what you need to prepare for different types of emergency. The plan will also record the procedures and contact details to be followed in the event of a crisis.
