The city is responsible for the maintenance of the streets and other public areas within the area covered by the zoning plan. Street maintenance is governed by the Law on the Maintenance and Cleanliness of Streets and Certain Public Areas. A maintenance classification has been defined for all streets, which determines the quality level of maintenance operations.

The city maintains a network of 183 km of roadways and 64 km of light traffic routes.

Winter maintenance includes snow removal, anti-slip and sanding. The landowner is responsible for the maintenance of the access road leading to the plot, including the removal of snow and ice ploughed at the access point and keeping the ditch open.
